The fun excitement when expecting guests is in the preparation. The cleaning and organizing. The grocery shopping and cooking. And then to enjoy it all with those you love is the icing on the cake!
I remember growing up and the fun it was to help my mom with the cleaning and the cooking when we were expecting company. The house was a fun bustle, there was something cooking on the stove or in the oven and its aroma was dancing throughout the house.

These fond memories have floated through my head this week as I prepare our home for my sister and brother's visit. Writing down recipes and making lists for the grocery store. Dusting and cleaning, organizing and shopping. And the accumulation is the arrival of those happy faces!

Here are some of the savory plans for the upcoming week. A delightful day at the seaside, eating and swimming to our hearts content. Barbecue eating, tea drinking and a trip to NC!

I hope to take many pictures! And be sure to share when its all over!

Much love to all and happy Summer!

Come let us bow down in worship. Let us get down on our knees before the Lord who made us. For He is our God. And we are the people of his field, and the sheep  of His hand.
Psalm 95: 6-7

I've been thinking about you and Marie a lot recently! I hope your time together is wonderful; I'm sure it will be!!!

Where are you going in NC? I've been longing to go to the Outer Banks where my family always went when I was a child...maybe next year. :)

Elizabeth, I just wanted to let you know that your picture of the table and the place settings was just perfect. I will be trying that one day when we have a lunch or tea party. I miss the sweet cozy home life when and if I get to busy.(STop I say Stop) I will slow down once again and reflect on His purpose and plan for me.
