~Being goofy at Sam's Club a couple of weeks back.

I had some all the way back to when he was just a newborn. If I didn't have my camera around I would whip out my phone! Came in quite handy! :)

The Word of Promise

~Jim Caviezel as Jesus

We just recently purchased this new Word of Promise audio bible. Its not just read, its acted out. It has surrounding sounds, music, famous voices perfectly selected. We already listen to the Bible on audio, which is very good, but this is so realistic! The four gospels are acted out separately by Matthew,  Mark, Luke and John which is really cool! I love the voice of Paul.  And to have Jim Caviezel as the voice of Jesus! Its as if I am really there in the  moment of the story. I love it!  I now look for opportunities to put it on. Doing the dishes, cleaning up our room. We are delighted! I am not sure what the price is in CD format, we bought it through itunes. It was very affordable :)

Happy Monday

~My little five month cutie

~ He is still not quite big enough to sit in his car without a blanky stuffed in between :)

Happy Monday!
I needed a cup of tea to wake me up today. Its now lunch time and I still don't have any enthusiasm for my day. But looking at these pictures gave me a fun boost. I was up late last night waiting for Benjamin's uniform to finish washing. There was a terrific thunder storm and it was raining down buckets which we could easily hear from the skylight. The thunder got so loud it woke up baby and Benjamin. It actually frightened me this time.  Its nice to be reminded of God majesty and greatness.

Winston turned five months this week. He is so precious to me. His temperament and personality is very calm and easy going. He has become a cozy thumb sucker. Even choosing to suck when we are shopping. So cute :) He is my Mr. Cozy. We recently bought some new sheets that have a high thread count and when I laid Winston on them for the first time, he smiled and squealed rolling his body and kicking up his legs. He of course loved feeling the sheets on his face and fell asleep not to long after. Lol :)

Working on websites have been taking up most of our time lately. But it is exciting and fun work. I am so thankful for Benjamin and his expertise.

Its nice to just write a bit of our lives. I know its just a few pieces, but it soothes me.

Happy monday to all :)

To Him alone who does great wonders, His love endures forever.
Who by His understanding made the heavens, His love endures forever.
Who spread out the earth upon the waters, His love endures forever.
Who made the great lights, His love endures forever.
the sun to govern the day, His love endures forever.
The  moon and stars to govern the night, His love endures forever.

Baby Boy Clothes

I have been checking our Goodwill every other week and finding steal deals on their baby boy clothes. Everything under two years is $1!! Most of what I find has hardly been worn.
So much fun!

His Day

Our Father's Day was spent enjoying the St. Augustine beach. A little sun and fresh cool water did my heart well. I think Benjamin enjoyed his day too :P

He works so hard at home and of course at work that it was nice to let his brain just have a break. It was a perfect day to be at the beach. Hot, humid and just a bit of a breeze in the air.

I am so thankful for Benjamin and the father he is. Its been wonderful to see him as a dad. He has always had to be responsible. I should say I have always seen him responsible. He looked after his younger siblings for many years when their mom passed away. And he was the big brother in their life. But this is so different. This is a blessing to him. And in all the good ways. It is also making him a better man.

The Lord's blessing him with a child is a gift and a joy.
I praise the Lord for my Benjamin and who he is and what he means to us.  He is our hero.....

Children's children are the crown of old men;
and the glory of children are their fathers."

Dad

~My dad meeting Winston for the first time :)

A special Happy Father's Day to my Dad. What a blessed girl I am to have such a father.

There is so much for me to say about him and our lives growing up. His nature and love of our Lord has reared me up and taught me about life and life through Christ. He has never been preachy. He just lives it. How he makes the best biscuits in the world and loves to treat us to ice cream, take us out to lunch, bring home a new dog, make dinner or clean up the kitchen after a big celebration. Help move every one of us kids wherever we happen to be living. He has showed us how to be by being that person.  He has given us all the ability to dream and hope. And to also enjoy life and everything we have and do.  He has treated all us kids as his friend. Some of the happiest memories are sitting in his truck driving with him and talking about life. He is such a hard worker. And will do anything for us kids even when we don't ask. That old saying has always rung true in my life. "Ask Dad he knows". And I always do and he always does!
I am beyond blessed to be his daughter.
Dad I love you so much!

Children's children are the crown of old men;
and the glory of children are their fathers."
-Proverbs 17:6

I Can't Help Myself :)

I had to post more pictures of Winston ;)

Winston is just now big enough to drive his little car. Well, he isn't really driving it yet, he just leans back and sits. He sat looking around chewing on his tongue and observing his new perspective :) We were up stairs so he couldn't really drive around because of the carpet, but I am sure he will be quite fascinated when he realizes that his car moves!

Outside it is thundering and the lightning is lighting up the sky. I can hear the rain falling on the sky light window and its just so peaceful. It has been raining almost every evening this last week. I am loving it!

I think a cup of tea would be just right to end the evening!

Much love and goodnight :)

Mmmm Just a Cup

I am not in the habit of drinking coffee on a regular basis. I am heavy tea drinker :)
The times I like to drink coffee are usually at restaurants. Its my dessert when eating out! I love enjoying my steaming cup and conversing with Benjamin. Enjoying the moment.
And O the smell is heavenly!
I love walking down isle at the grocery store where the fresh coffee beans are. When I was little, my sister and I would race to that part of the store to smell those freshly ground coffee beans. Its a very happy aroma a safe aroma. It reminds me of my dad. Waking up and knowing that dad was in the kitchen, because I could smell the delicious coffee brewing.

Well, today I don't know why, but I just had to have me a cup. I pulled out our little French Coffee Press and made myself some. My brother Nathan has a very happy ritual of 3 O clock coffee. If its the weekend he makes himself some very special expresso or grand authentic coffee, locks himself in his study and pulls out some history books or his Bible. He did it as a teenager and still keeps up the practice. It makes me homesick thinking about it all! :)

All that to say I love my coffee! LOL ;)

Cheers!

He is Our Prince of Peace

He is our Shalom our Prince of Peace. We are safe in His hands. He wants us to have peace through Him in every circumstance we are living through. He is my Prince of Peace :) And O how comforting to have that peace during difficult trials.
Isaiah 53:5
But he was pierced for our transgressions,
he was crushed for our iniquities;
the punishment that brought us peace was upon him,
and by his wounds we are healed.

A very blessed week! :)

Winston's Birth

I don't think I told much about Winston's birth. So I thought I would go ahead and type it out before more time goes by. And after being settled in our new home and city, and having the fleas under my thumb (finally!) I can share my experience :)

After having a baby and doing the whole process with a Midwife, I am so happy we went that route!

I used Marie's Midwife Patty and I am so very thankful for Marie and Jon's help on the matter. I never went to the doctor during the whole of my pregnancy! On top of that it looks as though the Navy is going to reimburse us! We weren't expecting that :)

I opted for a water birth using a kiddy pool. But I wasn't sure if I was going to actually be able to birth Winston in the water. Hearing from Marie that she couldn't get a great position in the pool that was comfortable while pushing. But after reading a book on water births, I was determined to birth our little guy in the water!

The day started out with cleaning around the house with Marie and my Mom and some fun cooking. We baked some yummy graham crackers, that I have craved ever since! Our friend Julie popped by to pickup some cake decorating tools and she delighted us by bringing over some yummy homemade soup and french bread. Ha! It turned out that the soup and bread came in very handy for us all!

It was also my due date and Patty had text me to see how I was feeling. We had a big snow storm that day and another one was moving in that night. Patty said she had been up all night and day delivering another baby. Knowing that changes in the weather can bring on labor. Well she was right cause quite quickly my contractions started and got real strong around 6:30 - 7 PM. At around 7:30 PM they were only three minuets apart. I was thinking this was going to go nice and fast! Well, I think it would have been nice and fast had little Winston not been sucking on his thumb lol! My contractions stayed that way for eleven hours! He came out with his hand on his face. :) It was a little more difficult because of that. My mom and Grandma had very quick births and I was hoping that would pass down to me lol! I think maybe it did, but little Winnie's thumb sucking gave us a harder time! He did end up coming out in the water, which I was very pleased over and helped during the most painful part! It was also an easier clean up. ;) I understood why Marie had a hard time in the water, I was able to lean my back against the bed and then later against Marie's legs, which gave me a better grip to push.

It took Patty a long time to get to us due to the terrific storm. If Winston hadn't had his hand on his face during labor we may have had him much earlier and I am not sure if she would have made it lol! She was a great comfort though. Always calm, I can remember Marie my Mom and her laughing! It was such a happy memory! It was also *wonderful* to have my Mom and Marie there with me, especially since Benjamin was unable to be there during the birth. Marie and I are very good at understanding the other's needs without really saying much. She new when the talking in the room was too much for me, when I was trying to concentrate! I hadn't told her a thing :) My Mom faithfully cleaned and cooked and served and was a constant comfort. How blessed I am for their love! It is really one of the fondest memories I have! Thank you Lord for my family....

What a joyous time the whole event was! Being pregnant and preparing for that exciting day! Purchasing all the supplies needed, like towels, linens, herbs and remedies, a heating pad for the baby and many other things. And then to hold my treasure that I had been carrying for so long in my arms, it was heaven! The other comfort was having Benjamin on Skype for the majority of my labor. He missed the actual birth because he was on the plane. He arrived at noon the next day to discover he had a son. What a surprise! We were thinking that it was going to be a girl! :) Maybe next time lol! :)

One thing I was surprised about, was the recovery! That was pretty hard, with all the discomforts that can come along with labor. It took me a week to get out of the house. I envied Marie's energy! :) I couldn't wait to be able to clean and feel normal again.

And how excited I am to hear that my sister is expecting again! I hope it wont be during a snow storm lol!

Happy Thursday to all and yay, I blogged on Thursday instead of Friday! ;)

A Little of Everything

It was delicious! I had two!

Here is Benjamin's delicious creation he made for us last week.
He just blended some fresh basil, olive oil and pecans together. Then grilled some Tilapia and french bread. Spread the pesto over the bread add some swiss cheese!
Yummy!!

Laughing with Daddy. Its hard to work when you have this little guy smiling up at you!

~Looking at his new shoes

~I can't get over his little baby legs.

We put shoes on Winston for the first time on Sunday. He was very amused! And so were we lol!
Every time I looked in the back seat of the car he was staring away at them!

A very blessed Tuesday to everyone!
