Summer Time

Summer is out!!! Whewwww! I am a little bit more tired in the evenings lately! But I have really enjoyed having all the kids to work with now =) I want to make such a difference in their lives. I don't want them to forget what they are experiencing with me. That maybe God  through me, can change the course of their lives. I remember my childhood so well. I think that so many important things makes and shapes us into who we are as adults. They all warm my heart and soul.

I will try to get some more posting done! I have fallen so behind lately! Happy summer everyone!

Summerhills

Finished Summerhills =(
Don't know what to read now! Does anyone ever feel this way? You have just finished one of the best books ever written and it is hard to move on and read something else? Its almost the same feeling you get after Christmas or a wedding. I just love the simplicity and the era of this authors books. Especially these last two I just finished. The first one is called Amberwell and then the second is Summerhills. If anyone needs a comforting and interesting book you would love these! The author is D.E. Stevenson and most of her books take place in England or Scotland during the 30's, 40's and 50's. She usually stages her stories before and after world war two.

I envy all of you if you haven't read it yet!!!!!!

I have completely worn out and used my wallet to its utmost capabilities! I loved this wallet too =( The flowers are so pretty =) Its just plain worn out and exhausted! And now I have purchased a new and hopefully long lasting wallet. This one is a little easier for me to stay organized!
Happy Memorial Day Everyone!

Shopping Day

Off to run errands and maybe a little clothes shopping for me? He he, it always makes me feel  a little better to think of it that way instead of all these little errands I have to run today. Kinda like an award for my hard work =) Yes, I live my life awarding myself) =) he he this is not a good habit, but it does give me a great attitude!!!!! Happy Saturday everyone!

Searching for a house

We have been searching for a house right now when our housing market is really low. We have a friend realtor who e-mails us all of the bank owned houses. Not that I want to move again, but since we rent our house, we realize we are just throwing our money away, especially with the housing market right now. Since we live in Scottsdale, houses are usually really expensive, well, we found this house that is worth a great deal of money and the bank is selling it for about  half the price of its value. It is beautiful! So we are trying to figure out how we can make this investment work. We first started out just looking for a house that we could finally own, but now this is turning out to be a HUGE  investment! I'll update pretty soon to share what happens  =)

French Toast Doughnuts

These are so yummy! Ruthie and I felt like french toast or crepes tonight since we were the only ones hungry. We decided on French Toast because we looked up a recipe by Nigella Lawson. She made this recipe so yummy! I took a picture with my computer but unfortunately it erased it! And we already ate our French Toast Doughnuts! Bummer! They looked so yummy there on our sugary plates =) Try for yourself =) Also watch her video its not too long and you will want to try it on your kids!

I have been searching for my camera and I can't find it! Please pray that it will turn up. It makes me sick to think I lost it somewhere. I've looked at work and all over at home. The last time I remember having it was at home. =( Send a prayer my way if you all think about it =)

Thanks

AHHHHHH!!!

Today I had to take my bosses vehicle to the Honda dealership. I was told it might take an hour maybe an hour and a half, so smart me, I asked Marie to come with me today on her day off and we could catch up while we waited. Si Si played in the play area and we sat in there with her while we waited. Well, what turned out to be 1 1/2 hours became 4 hours!!!!  I felt so bad for Marie!!! But, the time went by really fast, because we were talking!! Obviously we had a lot to talk about! Trust me it was all good =) Si Si seemed to have fun as well, luckily I brought her some library books, and they had toys and coloring there. They also had water, popcorn, crackers and cookies. =) Thank you Marie! I sure hope she didn't mind!

National Day Of Prayer

Today is our nations National Day of Prayer. We really need it this year! Our church is having an all night and day prayer session that we are going to participate in. America is beautiful to me and I lover her so much. Here is one day that we can all join in together and plea on her behalf. Will everyone join me?

Pray that

1. The people of America will get on their hands and knees once more.
2. That we will care about the happenings of this country, and not be ignorant any longer.
3. That the Lord would forgive us of our sins.

=) Have a wonderful day everyone!

Proverbs 24 Daily Chapter =)

This is more for me then anything else. It helps me to type it out like this it seems to stick with me more and grasp my attention........ I hope you all will enjoy it with me =) I'll try to post the chapter of the day every day now! We shall see.............   =)

1 Do not envy wicked men, do not desire their company;
2 for their hearts plot violence, and their lips talk about making trouble.
3 By wisdom a house is built, and through understanding it is established;
4 Through knowledge its rooms are filled with rare and beautiful treasures.
5 A wise man has great power, and a man of knowledge increases strength .
6 For waging war you need guidance, and for victory many advisers.
7 Wisdom is too high for fool; in the assembly at the gate he has nothing to say.
8 He who plots evil will be known as a schemer.
9 The schemes of folly are sin, and men detest a mocker.
10 If you falter in times of trouble, how small is your strength!
11 Rescue those being led away do death; hold back those staggering toward slaughter.
12 If you say, "but we knew nothing about this," does not  he who weighs the heart perceive it?
Does not he who guards your know it? Will he not repay each person according to what
     he has done?
13 Eat honey, my son, for it is good; honey from the comb is sweet to your taste.
14 Know also that wisdom is sweet to your soul; if you find it, there is a future hope for you,
and your hope will not be cut off.
15 Do not lie in wait like an outlaw against a righteous man's house, do not raid his dwelling
     place;
16 for though a righteous man falls seven times, he rises again, but the wicked are brought
     down by calamity.
17 Do not gloat when your enemy falls; when he stumbles, do not let your heart rejoice,
18 or the Lord will see and disapprove and turn his wrath away from him.
19 Do not fret because of evil men or be envious  of the wicked,
20 for the evil man has no future hope, and the lamp of the wicked will be snuffed out.
21 Fear the Lord and the king, my son, and do not join with the rebellious,
22 for those two will send sudden destruction upon them, and who know what calamities
     they can bring?
23 These also are sayings of the wise: To show partiality in judging is not good:
24 Whoever says to the guilty, "you are innocent"- peoples will curse him and nations
      denounce him.
25 But it will go well with those who convict the guilty, and rich blessing will come upon them.
26 An honest answer is like a kiss on the lips.
27 Finish your outdoor work and get your fields ready; after that, build your house.
28 Do not testify against your neighbor without cause, or use your lips to deceive.
29 Do not say, "I'll do to him as he has done to me; I'll pay that man back for what he did."
30 I went past the field of the sluggard, past the vineyard of the man who lacks judgment;
31 thorns had come up everywhere, the ground was covered with weeds, and the stone wall
     was in ruins.
32 I applied my heart to what I observed and learned a lesson from what I saw:
33 A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest-
34 and poverty will come on you like a bandit and scarcity like an armed man.

Attention!!!

Movies!!! If you all don't mind, I really need your help! I can't tell you why just yet, but you will know eventually. I need all of your favorite movies, not just any movie, it has to fall under the category of family and conservatism. This would help me so much! They can be old, new, not famous, famous, war movies, westerns, historical. Its okay if they are violent, just as long as they have a wholesome moral point, (Im not talking about evil films, just wholesome ones) And I will let you all know why I need them =) ............. If you don't mind being a little patient? =)

A Salivating Dinner!

Our dinner was so fun last night. Ruthie and I fixed all of the sides while Benjamin made the steaks. Our first was a lovely white bean mash, (white beans from the can) rinse and then stir them over the stove with lots of olive oil and garlic then mash them like you are mashing potatoes. Side two was parsley tomatoes and bacon hash. Cut up the bacon in little peices, cook that up first then put the bacon on a seperate plate while you cook up the tomatoes once they are finished throw the bacon back into the pan with the tomatoes and cook it about a minute longer then put it on a plate and garnish with chopped parsley. However much parsley you desire. I think we put a little too much on, but it still tasted good =) . Benjamin cooked the steaks out on the grill, he also added a really nice onion cream sauce. We were so full, we couldn't even attempt to make the dessert! I'll post it another time when we make it. Because it is a good one =)

It was a lot of fun =) Above is John, Ruthie and a friend, Bobby is in the back and Marie wasn't able to come. I couldn't get ONE straight face out of Benjamin. I took like 25. Not one serious one! =)

"The After" =)

What do you think? Better?

Sorry it took me so long to post the "after"! I painted it right away, it just took me FOREVER to update this week! Whew!!! It was one of those weeks! I think it looks very snug in white!

Irving Berlin

Probably the most famous and most important songwriter of the twentieth century, Irving Berlin was active in the music industry for almost sixty years. He wrote over a thousand songs, including some of the most famous and successful numbers of all-time, such as ''White Christmas'' and ''God Bless America.''

Born in a poor Russian Jewish ghetto, Berlin's parents immigrated to America when he was five, settling in New York's Lower East Side. As a young boy he sang on the streets for pennies to help support his family after his father died. Though he couldn't read music he taught himself enough piano to began writing songs. He sold his first number, ''Marie of Sunny Italy,'' in 1907. In 1911 he had his first big hit with ''Alexander's Ragtime Band.'' Two years later he married his first wife, who died soon after from typhoid she had contracted on their honeymoon. He married again in 1926, and the couple remained together until her death in 1988.

In 1919 Berlin formed his own music publishing company, still in existance today. He also co-founded ASCAP. Over the years Berlin wrote dozens of plays and films. His song ''Blue Skies'' was featured in the first talkie, The Jazz Singer. He retired from Hollywood in 1957 and from Broadway in 1962.

Berlin dedicated his life to his work, not having any hobbies or past-times. Never learning to read or play music he used a special piano to help him compose. Berlin was also well-known for his patriotism and charity. He supported the war effort during both World Wars and established several foundations in his lifetime. He signed over all royalties from his song ''God Bless America'' to the Boy Scouts.

One of Our Days at the Zoo

Here are some pictures of the kids I look after. They are so cute huh? I finally remembered to bring my camera that day =) I have such a bad habit of forgetting my camera on such outings! We have done so many fun things and I always forget to bring it. Since I share so much about these kids, its about time I show you all what they look like! =) Aamena is the oldest she is 8, Sam is 6 and Saffiya will be 3 in June. When I first started working, Saffiya was only 18 months! Its been so nice to be apart of their lives.

Happy Birthday Robert!

Today is Bobby's 17th Birthday! We all celebrated it last night. We played put put golf the batting cages, and the go carts. The go carts were the best! Benjamin of course beat everyone. But I passed him once! I take great pride in that :) It was fun doing something like that together. I think the boys had the most fun, getting to speed and running into each other (even though we weren't allowed to bump) we will all have to do that again! Then we drove home, and tried to abide by the law and not bump the car in front of us! he he he!!!! We had ribs, okra, salad and french bread. Benjamin cooks those ribs so WELL! The meat just fell right off. It was a fun birthday. I think Bobby had a lot of fun as well =) ( I should hope!)

Sam O Man =)

Sam is my little man. He has just turned into the sweetest guy. When I first met Sam a year and half ago, I had very different thoughts. But as time has gone on we have become really close. After the first nine months of DISCIPLINE, he has turned into a sweetheart! He loves to play with me and listen to stories. He has developed a great sense of humor and also FINALLY a willingness to do good. He loves schedules and routines and MUST have me read to them all during snack time! :) He loves to see me read my Bible and calls it "the Holy Bible".  Anyways, I am loving watching Sam turn into an honest open minded little boy. :) Its really nice to see him grow! :) I know God has something planned for these smart little kids. I can't wait to see what happens next!

Busy!!!!!

Sorry I have been gone for awhile! We have been super duper busy!

To start off, one of our old klunkers finally gave way; and we have been shopping for a new car. Whew! That can be work, but thankfully we have a located (thankfully because they are hard to find in Phoenix), a 2003 Honda Civic Hybrid. No one wants to part with their car, obviously =) ! But we are so thankful to have a reliable car, Yeah!!!!!

Second.... this week is spring break for my kids I look after. We have been pic nicking, going to the zoo, reading lots of books from the library and making yummy chocolate covered bananas and pretzels with chocolate chips. As most of you know, taking care of kids can tucker you out!

=)

Delightful!

Pure delightful! I have just returned home yesterday. And it was so nice to have some time with Benjamin. Not to have any worries or cares was pure medicine!
Thank you all for your sweet good bye notes! This was my first time in San Diago, and I thoroughly enjoyed it! Davene, I can see why you loved living there!

I have to tell you all a little secret, not only did we go to San Diago, but we also went on a cruise! We left San Diago's harbor and headed to Cabo San Lucas. We got such an amazing deal....... $200 a person!!!! Four nights.....food and everything! It was a carnival ship. It was one of those last minute sales!!! So I didn't actually stay in San Diago :) I feel so full right now! Not only that, but lazy too! The food was very tasty! It is a really good idea to take a cruise while you are pregnant! Everything you might be craving is just a little walk away :) he he he he! Here are a few pictures.... Oh yeah, we went snorkeling in Cabo San Lucas.......not a very good idea in winter!!!! Oh my WORD! It was so COLD! :) I will never forget that temperature!

The day we were leaving San Diago back to Scottsdale, we found out that Nathan my brother happened to be in San Diago as well! He was there for work! That was very humerus.....what a small world we live in! So we met up with him for a couple of hours =)

At an evening show on our ship :)
A beautiful view from our ship
Just before we felt that cold water! :)

Hosanna..........

You must listen to this beautiful song. The words are so powerful. Trust me, this wont be the last time you listen to this song.......... :)

Heal my heart and make it clean.... Open up my eyes to the things unseen....... Show me how to love like you have loved me...... break my heart for what breaks yours........ Everything I am for your kingdom's cause....... As I walk from earth into Eternity.

Happy Valentines Day!!!

I had a lovely Valentines Day this year! (I say that every year...... :)
I gave my kids (the kids I look after) a fun Valentine tea party. I made bunt cakes with Nuetella as frosting and a lot with pink frosting. I was very shaky when I frosted them, so they look really dorky, but they still tasted really good! It was very yummy! Here are a couple of pictures. Sorry they aren't very good, because I had to use my computer, I left my camera at home =(.

Sunny.........

....... and breezy is the forecast.
Today 72 was the high. It is so beautiful out. I am getting excited to go swimming in our pool this summer!
Ruthie and I went garage sailing this morning and while we were out looking we found a beautiful outside swing. It has a cover and its still in really good condition. The people who were selling it hardly ever used it and kept it in nice condition.
So I am outside enjoying the lovely weather today! =) (trying to get a tan!)
My sympathies go out to everyone who is tired of the snow! Be encouraged spring is on the way!
