House Pictures Coming Soon!

Here is one picture anyway!! He he, I know I keep promising house pictures and I haven't followed through. I was hoping to post some while my sister is visiting so I could use her fancy camera. Well, so far our time has been used up soothing fussy, teething and sick babies and ourselves recovering from bad head colds. I am hoping by tomorrow I will have all my energy back again and I will be able to get the house clean and then I'll snap a few pictures! :P It would be nice if the rest of our week together would be a little more enjoyable for her. :) She says she is having a delightful time even though we all have been feeling so sick.

On the fun side we are in the process of building a website for our business. I am so blessed that my Benjamin is the handyman when it comes to web building. I can lean on him when I get stuck :) Marie and I have been staying up late at night trying to work on it, even though we should be in bed resting. But as mom's all know, the nights are usually the best time to get things done! :)

St. Augustine

On Friday we all ventured south to the old town of St. Augustine. It was such a nice day to go. The day was hot, with a lovely breeze to make it pleasant. We ended up taking tons of pictures in front of Fort Castillo de San Marcos. It was a perfect background.  Marie took some cute pictures of the babies. Winston  was very awake which made it easier to capture him. :)

Stretch Marks....

Here is my review of Extra Virgin Coconut Oil for stretch marks. I am SO glad I used it while I was pregnant! Not one single stretch mark on my stomach!!!! Although they seemed to appear everywhere I didn't apply it LOL!!! It sure worked though! So in the future I will apply it ALL over my body LOL :) God is so good to give us natural things to help keep us looking beautiful! :) Don't forget if any my lovely readers buys some to buy Extra Virgin. Thats the good stuff! :)

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

The day of green is here! If you forgot today is that day you better make sure your wearing some green and if you have green eyes that doesn't count :P

A family tradition growing up, my parents would make delicious green oatmeal. I know it sounds gross, but it actually looks quite appealing! Then for dinner we would have corned beef, potatoes and cabbage and watch The Quiet Man. If you haven't seen it you should! It is on my top favorite list :) Does anyone have some fun family traditions to share? I would love to hear about it!
God bless you all this day!

For Himilce

~Sunday Best!

~Starting to get hungry

~Happy and full

~Thank you aunty Himilce for my Sunday outfit!

This outfit was given to us by Winston's aunty Himilce and Uncle Nathan along with MANY others! But this is one is one of his Sunday best!

This weekend Winston turned 5 weeks! I can't believe how fast the time has flown. He is the best part of our day. Its a joy to wake in the night to feed him and listen to all of his little noises. His routine varies from being awake for a couple of minuets to a couple of hours. His love is our master bedroom fan. He will stare for long stretches of time kicking his legs and now smiling at!

I know all I have been posting is Winston lately. I promise to post pictures of the house real soon. Marie and Jon will be out here next week and I will be able to use Marie's camera, which will make our place look so much nicer then when I use mine :)

A Lovely Gift

My dear friend Meredith sent us a beautiful baby present for Winston that she made. I am enjoying it so much! :P It is so pretty and perfect. I am overwhelmed by her kindness to us. It greeted me cheerfully in the mailbox; and has been laying beautifully on Winston since. Thank you so very much Meredith !

Happenings

~ My new little friends! They always fly over when they see I am outside :)

~ Some nice chocolate chip cookies to start monday right.

~ A pretty view of one of our windows

Here are a couple pictures of our little place. I am pretty much done with getting us settled. But not quite ready to post pictures yet :)
I am delighted that our neighborhood has geese and ducks enjoying the sunshine with us. The weather is heavenly right now. A nice breeze with just the right amount of sun on your face when you go out. I found a nice stroller on Craigslist so when Benjamin gets out of work today we are going to pick it up! I can't wait to go walking and running with it! I am picky and wanted a three wheel or jogging stroller and so I have waited to find the right one on Craigslist. I found a smashing deal! Can't wait to get it! :)
Happy monday!

Sore Throat Remedies

Benjamin had the worst sore throat amongst many other things this week and it wasn't going away, so I finally looked up some remedies online that might help. I was surprised by how much I found and how interesting they were. It was nice getting to be nurse after several months of not being able to help him in these areas! There were a total of 14 remedies, but I only used the most interesting ones :) Anyhow, I thought I would share what I found ;)

I found all of these on

Gargle with warm saltwater. If you can gargle without gagging, make a saline solution by adding 1/2 teaspoon salt to a cup of very warm water. Yes, when your mother told you to gargle with saltwater, she knew what she was talking about. It cuts phlegm and reduces inflammation. Dissolve 1/2 teaspoon salt in 1/2 cup warm water, and gargle every three to four hours.

Drink Apple Cider Vinegar

This sore throat cure is found in several different remedies. Some doctors still swear that it is surprisingly palatable and works wonders. (Do not give it -- or any other honey-containing food or beverage -- to children under two years of age. Honey can carry a bacterium that can cause a kind of food poisoning called infant botulism and may also cause allergic reactions in very young children.)

1 tablespoon honey, any kind 1 tablespoon vinegar, preferably apple-cider vinegar

  • 8 ounces hot water Mix all the ingredients together in a mug and sip slowly (but don't let it get cold). Use as often as desired. For gargling: You'll need 1 teaspoon salt, 1/2 cup cider vinegar, and 1 cup warm water. Dissolve the salt in the vinegar, then mix in the water. Gargle every 15 minutes as necessary.

Use Citrus

Sip lemon juice. Mix 1 tablespoon each of honey and lemon juice in 1 cup warm water and sip away. Drink lime juice. Combine 1 spoonful with a spoonful of honey and take as often as needed for a sore throat.

Make Horseradish Cocktail
Try this Russian sore-throat cure. Combine 1 tablespoon pure horseradish or horseradish root with 1 teaspoon honey and 1 teaspoon ground cloves. Mix in a glass of warm water and drink slowly.

Suck On Garlic

This Amish remedy can treat or prevent sore throats. Peel a fresh clove, slice it in half, and place 1 piece in each cheek. Suck on the garlic like a cough drop. Occasionally, crush your teeth against the garlic, not to bite it in half, but to release itsallicin, a chemical that can kill the bacteria that causes strep.

Steam It Out

One old-fashioned remedy for a cold or sore throat is a steam tent -- sitting with your face over a bowl of steaming hot water and your head covered with a towel to keep the steam in. Adding 1 to 2 drops eucalyptus oil can be soothing.

While it's easy to dismiss such a simple measure as an old wives' tale, several scientific studies have shown that steaming can actually shorten the duration of a throat infection.

We tried all of them except the Horseradish Cocktail and the Apple Cider Vinegar simply because I didn't have any! Benjamin seemed pretty impressed on how well I new how to ease his discomforts :P he he

Benjamin and Winston

I took this the other day off of Benjamin's phone. I need to upload my camera, but this picture will have to do for now :) We got a touch of sickness the last couple of days. Hopefully on the mend now! We are still busy unpacking and organizing. The house is looking a little better!
Happy monday everyone!
